In art, 6th graders created a lively pumpkin composition, carefully shading their pumpkins with a consistent light source to make them pop. Then, they used warm and cool colors in a crayon resist background to make their artwork stand out with vibrant contrast!

The Riverview Choirs have had a very busy and successful past month! We received a visit from Dr. Marques Ruff, the new coordinator of vocal music education at Astate and former member of the world renowned professional choir, Chanticleer. We were also visited by Dr. Paul Mayhew, coordinator of vocal music education at UCA, whose choir has been selected as the university honor choir at this year's All State conference. These two amazing educators worked on vocal technique and literature with our students in preparation for multiple performances and auditions. The Sr. High Tenor-Bass Choir, Fraternitas, was one of 5 choirs invited to perform at the Astate Choral Invitational. Our students were cliniced by internationally acclaimed conducter, Isaac Cates. This group of young men represented Riverview well. Several students attend Harding University's fall musical, Tuck everlasting and experienced a wonderful performance. We then had more than 35 students audition for the Jr. And Sr. High All Region Choirs. These students worked for the first 2 months of the school year to learn challenging and enriching music. We had 10 students selected to the Jr. High All Region Choirs and 5 students selected to the Sr. High All Region Choirs. Those students spent this past weekend learning and performing with some of the best musicians in the state. They also had the opportunity to work with some the best choir directors from around the state and internationally acclaimed conductor, Dr. Julie Yu of Oklamoma City University. We are so proud of all of our students who auditioned! Congratulations to those who were selected!
