JES students and staff look forward to a yummy Thanksgiving meal! 🦃 Students can invite up to two guests. Payment and reservations are due Tuesday (by 3:00) to make sure we have availability for our guests on Friday.

Mrs. Loyd's 6th graders dissected flowers while learning about pollination and plant reproduction.




Our ELD and Migrant students worked very hard on their culture projects where they had to research where they were from and present it in class. We love our kids and so proud of these students!



In art, 6th graders created a lively pumpkin composition, carefully shading their pumpkins with a consistent light source to make them pop. Then, they used warm and cool colors in a crayon resist background to make their artwork stand out with vibrant contrast!







Kindergarten is celebrating the Thanksgiving season in Mrs. Katie's class!


In art, second graders are tapping into their creativity and experimenting with color as they use the crayon resist technique with watercolor to bring vibrant scarecrows to life!

The Riverview Raider Marching Band competed at the 4A state marching competition today. They were one of only 7 4A bands in the state to earn superior ratings (1) and received 5th place overall (out of 23)! Proud of our band program!!!

Happy Veteran’s Day! KES enjoyed having Veterans come speak and read to our classes. Thank you Mrs. Nakamura, Mr. Menser, Mr. Eudy, and Mr. Blackmon!

Jimmy Morris, Brysen's dad, talked to Mrs. Loyd's 5th grade class about his time in the Marines. Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸

The Riverview Choirs have had a very busy and successful past month!
We received a visit from Dr. Marques Ruff, the new coordinator of vocal music education at Astate and former member of the world renowned professional choir, Chanticleer. We were also visited by Dr. Paul Mayhew, coordinator of vocal music education at UCA, whose choir has been selected as the university honor choir at this year's All State conference. These two amazing educators worked on vocal technique and literature with our students in preparation for multiple performances and auditions.
The Sr. High Tenor-Bass Choir, Fraternitas, was one of 5 choirs invited to perform at the Astate Choral Invitational. Our students were cliniced by internationally acclaimed conducter, Isaac Cates. This group of young men represented Riverview well.
Several students attend Harding University's fall musical, Tuck everlasting and experienced a wonderful performance.
We then had more than 35 students audition for the Jr. And Sr. High All Region Choirs. These students worked for the first 2 months of the school year to learn challenging and enriching music. We had 10 students selected to the Jr. High All Region Choirs and 5 students selected to the Sr. High All Region Choirs. Those students spent this past weekend learning and performing with some of the best musicians in the state. They also had the opportunity to work with some the best choir directors from around the state and internationally acclaimed conductor, Dr. Julie Yu of Oklamoma City University. We are so proud of all of our students who auditioned! Congratulations to those who were selected!









Veterans Day Coloring Contest winners in the pre-K to second grade category were presented ribbons by Beverly Roland. For 1st place Michael Goodwin; 2nd place (not pictured )Iris Roth; 3rd place Harrison Jefford. Congratulations! 🎉

6th graders in Mrs Francis' class were joined by Jamie Newton, Arkansas' first female infantry officer, in honor of Veterans Day at JES.
Mrs. Perry's 5th grade class was honored to have Robert Davis come and discuss his military service in honor of Veterans day! Mr. Davis is the father of 6th grader Makayla Davis.



Ms. Wright, Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Smith's Kindergarten classes and Mrs. Kemp's first graders were visited and read to by Chris Jones in honor of Veterans Day. Mr. Jones is an uncle to kindergartener Malaki Jones! Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸🤩
