Destruction of Records
According to state and federal guidelines, special education records can be destroyed six years after the student exits the program. The Special Education Department of the Riverview School District will begin on May 23, 2022, to destroy all special education records for students who have graduated, moved, dropped, been dismissed, or found ineligible for services prior to and including the 2015-2016 school year.
You have the right to review and request copies of these records before they are destroyed. Beginning on May 9, if you wish to see these records, please contact the Special Education office at 501-279-7700 ext. 3205, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m., Monday through Friday to schedule a time to view the records or if you have any questions regarding these records.
THESE RECORDS ARE NOT THE PERMANENT SCHOOL RECORDS. THEY ARE ONLY SPECIAL EDUCATION DUE PROCESS FORMS AND RECORDS.

This spring the state legislature passed a bill that changed when the district can start school in the fall. In response to this change, the board approved a new calendar for the 2022-23 school year. There are only two changes to the school calendar. The first day of school has been changed to Thursday, August 18th. The original start of school was going to be Monday, August 22nd. The second change moves the last day of school to Friday, May 26th instead of Wednesday, May 31st. By making this change to the start date it allows the district to have the last day of school scheduled for the Friday before Memorial Day. Students would not have to come back after Memorial Day if no snow days have to be made up next year. The revised calendar is posted on the district website.
