Cell Phone and Other Electronic Devices Use Policy:
In accordance with the new state law (No Cell Act), students will be expected to keep personal electronic devices like cell phones, smart watches, tablets and computers turned off and put away from the first bell to begin the school day to the last. To comply with this mandate, all students will be required to place their phones in a lockable Yondr pouch upon arrival and keep them secured for the duration of the school day. Students will be issued this pouch at the beginning of the school year. Whoever does not have their pouch, will need to voluntarily turn it into the office for the day. Pouches will be unlocked at dismissal. This policy is designed to support focused learning and reduce distractions.
-Students not abiding by the cell phone and other electronic device policy would be subject to discipline.
Student/principal conference/warning/confiscation of electronic devices for the school day.
Confiscation of electronic device for the school day, as well as requiring a 2-week probationary period of the electronic device in a locked pouch in the office. If a student is in possession of a cell phone during this period, they will be suspended for the remainder of the day.
One day of In-School Suspension and students will have to turn in their device to the office for the remainder of the semester. If a student is in possession of a cell phone during this period, they will be suspended for the remainder of the day.
3 Days of I.S.S. and device(s) turned into the office for the remainder of the semester.
Either ISS or OSS will be given and device(s) turned into the office for the remainder of the semester.
