Riverview School District Spectator Ejection Policies
This policy applies to all spectators attending any school district athletic or special events. The outlined consequences are cumulative and escalate with repeated offenses to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for participants and spectators. The policy is designed to be clear, enforceable, and manageable.
First Offense:
A spectator ejected from an event will be prohibited from attending the next scheduled event in that sport at the same level of competition (e.g.. 5th/6th grade basketball, 7th grade, junior high, varsity, junior varsity, or benefit games).
Second Offense (Within the Same Sport Season):
A spectator ejected a second time within the same sport season will be prohibited from attending all remaining events in that sport for the rest of the season.
If fewer than three comparable events remain in the season, the penalty will carry over to the next school season for that sport until the spectator has missed at least three comparable events in total.
Completion of *'The Parent Seat” NFHS Course before being allowed to attend any other school-sponsored event that season or that year.
Third Offense (Within the Same School Year):
A spectator ejected for a third time within the same school year will be prohibited from attending any school-sponsored extracurricular event including all athletic events governed by AAA, for a full calendar year. (ex. Spectator gets ejected from a football game once, basketball game once, and a soccer match once = Spectator being prohibited for a calendar year.)
Authority to Eject Spectators:
Ejections can be made by any game official, school administrator, athletic director, head coach, or school resource officer when a spectator's behavior is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or unsafe.
Officials may ask
school
administrators
to
administer
the ejection.
The decision to eject is final and will be enforced immediately.
Additional Notes:
Prohibition penalties apply to all levels of competition and district events, including 5th/6th grade basketball, 7th grade, junior high, varsity, junior varsity, and benefit games.
Ejections will be documented by the school principal or athletic director. with notification provided to the spectator and recorded for enforcement.
Second Offense in the same sport Requires completion of NFHS Course.
Third Offense within a school year will result in a spectator not being allowed back for a calendar year. (ex. Spectator gets ejected mom a football game once, basketball same once, and a soccer match once = Spectator being prohibited for a calendar yes) This means a spectator could be banned for a full year without having completed the NFHS Course.
This policy ensures consistent consequences for inappropriate behavior and promotes sportsmanship, safety, and respect at all district events. Compliance with this policy is expected to maintain a positive environment for all participants and attendees.
